Happy International Women’s Day!

From CEO Juliet Jones-Vlasceanu

When it comes to career and education opportunity for women, join us in reflecting on the fact the starting line is not the same for everyone. #EmbraceEquity For example, I know I am privileged.  I’ve received support from my family in so many ways – my parents made it possible for me to go to college.

Equity and equality are not the same thing. What’s the difference?

Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.” Read more about Equality and Equity.

Higher education and postsecondary training programs are a critical way women achieve lifelong career wellbeing. That’s why Career Key supports equity for women and others through TRIO, GearUp and similar postsecondary access programs. Let’s do more to impact equity together!

Career Key Partners with the University of Toronto

Beginning in 2010, Career Key has partnered with the University of Toronto to enrich the great work the university’s Career Centre team is doing. We recently received this testimonial from them and we’re excited to share it with you.

“As a counselling tool the CDP allows us to discuss very specifically where the student is in the process of career development and where they want to go next. Students appreciate the simplicity of the CDP and using it to formulate next steps. A pre/post administration of the CDP allows us to measure the degree of change on all the scales and we have found statistically significant progress. These results encourage further participation from our faculty partners.”
