The 5-minute Career Decision Profile

Based on 30 years of research, the Career Decision Profile (CDP) is now available online to help both students and adults make progress on their career and education decision-making journey. This virtual advising tool includes a short, self-directed online career readiness assessment that delivers holistic insights to advisors into individual career decision needs. Nationally recognized counselor educator, Dr. Lawrence K. Jones, NCC, is the CDP’s author.

Career readiness assessment in three dimensions

Higher Education Category

Finalists were judged on pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value and potential

The CDP measures three dimensions of career decision status:

  • decidedness,

  • comfort, and

  • reasons (5 scales: self-clarity, knowledge of occupations/programs, decisiveness, career choice importance, barriers)

It identifies individual needs and barriers, estimates 1 of 3 service levels for each person in Career Key Central, and recommends practical action steps for students, clients and advisors.

The benefits? Advisors and counselors can optimize scarce resources and individuals receive the support they need to move forward as they make critical education and career decisions.
