Recently, I’ve started to share more about Career Key’s 20-year evolution into an education technology company with 4 new cloud-based products in 5 years. Last weekend I was reminded of when it all began and my mother’s special contributions to our success. Our immediate family gathered in Oregon to celebrate her memory – the first time we had all been together since she entered hospice in January 2020. My mother Jeanine Wehr Jones, a retired teacher and high school media specialist, played a critical role in Career Key. Married 56 years to its founder and my father, counselor educator Dr. Lawrence K. Jones, she was a force behind the scenes of Career Key’s transformation.  Her loving guidance and encouragement motivated us and improved our decisions.

The value of education and supporting educators remains core to Career Key – reflecting my mother’s lasting influence. I’m grateful we can help her values persist, even as everything around us changes.
